Rules

Brand rendering

  • The brand is studio.chat — lowercase, with the literal dot.
  • Never Studio.chat, Studio.Chat, Studio Chat, or any mixed-case variant — even at the start of a sentence, even in headings.
  • When the surrounding style is uppercase (e.g. an all-caps banner stamp, a legal entity name), STUDIO.CHAT is fine. Otherwise: lowercase.
  • When an identifier disallows . (cloud resource IDs, npm scopes, slugs, env-var names, GitHub repos, etc.), spell the dot as the word dot: studiodotchat. Never collapse to studiochat — that reads as a different name.
  • For Spanish copy, the brand stays studio.chat — don't translate or re-spell the name.

SDC (initialism)

Casual 3-letter initialism for handles, internal docs, Slack shorthand. Don't lead with it in client-facing or search contexts — it's too contested (San Diego Comic-Con, Software Development Conference, Sumitomo Dainippon Chemical, …). Use it as a shorter reference once the full brand is established in the conversation.

The Colombian legal entity. Use only in contracts, invoices, formal paperwork. Never in marketing copy. The STUDIO.CHAT portion is all-caps because Colombian S.A.S. entities render the name in caps before the S.A.S. suffix.

Service descriptor — singular vs plural

Prefer singular for the canonical company descriptor:

  • EN: Audiovisual production / An audiovisual production company
  • ES: Producción audiovisual

In both languages, the singular form is a mass noun for the practice/craft; the plural becomes countable (specific works).

Reads more naturally in copy:

  • ✅ "We do audiovisual production." / "An audiovisual production company."
  • ❌ "We do audiovisual productions." (forces "we make" rewording; reads as a factory of titles instead of craft-led work)

Use plural only when the sentence really is about specific finished works — e.g. the launch blurb literally announces multiple upcoming projects:

"True audiovisual productions are coming to the heart of Medellín."

That's a deliberate plural for that announcement; the canonical descriptor stays singular elsewhere.

Why singular wins:

  1. Matches the brand's editorial / quiet / craft positioning (cinematography priority, "Cinematic capture — DP, lighting, color, final grade").
  2. Aligns with modern peers (A24, Plan B, Anonymous Content) vs. older Hollywood-style "Pictures / Productions" plurals.
  3. audiovisual production has higher monthly search volume than the plural; Google's stemming handles both, but the singular is the higher-traffic target.
